Why many physicians look beyond the practice

Medicine rewards deep focus. Building a financial life outside it asks for a different kind of attention, and there is rarely time to spare.

Time is the scarce resource
Landlording or actively running a business on top of a medical career rarely fits. Passive structures exist for people in exactly that position.
Income depends on one career
A physician's earnings often rest on one profession, one specialty and sometimes one employer. Diversifying is a way to reduce that concentration.
Private investments are unfamiliar
Offering documents, waterfalls and sponsor track records are not taught in medical school. Learning the language comes before any decision.
Credible education is hard to find
Much of what is online is sales dressed up as teaching. We aim to explain the risks as clearly as the opportunities.
Dr. Anam Omer, host of Physician Passive Investing

Meet Dr. Anam Omer

Dr. Omer is a practicing physician in Houston, Texas, and the founder and host of Physician Passive Investing.

She started Physician Passive Investing because many physicians earn well, have very little time, and get little guidance on investing outside their careers. Her aim is to explain how passive real estate investing works, including the risks, in plain language, so you can decide for yourself whether it fits your goals.

Dr. Omer is a physician and educator, not a licensed financial adviser. Nothing on this site is personalized advice.
